Pittsburgh is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Pittsburgh follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Because if you can't go to Sam's for the BEST corn beef sandwich, where the hell can you go? Shout out to this true Gem of Pittsburgh. Highly recommended by the locals who really know what they're talking about. I already know that I'll be returning and I ain't even left yet!

As someone who’s been on a lifelong quest for the ultimate corned beef and pastrami sandwich, my travels have taken me from the legendary Katz’s Deli on the East Coast to Langer’s on the West Coast and everywhere in between. So when I heard about 5th Avenue Food & Market, a spot billed as a real local favorite, I had to check it out. Let’s start with the vibe: this is as local as a local spot gets. Walking through the door immediately makes you feel like a regular. The setup is incredible—a classic neighborhood deli and market hybrid with that old-school corner store energy. The customer service is unmatched; you’re greeted warmly and treated like you’ve been coming here for years. The sandwiches are piled a mile high with all the fixings of your choice. The rye bread is fresh, soft, and delicious—the perfect vehicle for whatever you load on it. But here’s the honest critique from a true corned beef critic: the corned beef is deli-sliced rather than made in-house. For me, that’s an instant fail when stacking it up against the real players who brine, cure, and slice their own. It just doesn’t hit that same level of depth and texture you get from house-made. That said, if you’re okay

I stop past here every time I’m on that side of town. The corn beef sandwich w/pickles on the side is what I ordered. It was so good. My favorite sandwich shop.

The food here is exceptional, I love coming and getting the corn beef sandwich on any kind of bread when I can afford the entire lunch combo including a side, drink, and snack. Love it here, this is my A-1 store.

Discovered this place by chance, and it was such a pleasant surprise. I was working out of a nearby cafe, but unfortunately they did not have any food and I was extremely hungry, so I looked up any food places nearby. This Deli was only a couple minutes away, and people were raving about the corned beef sandwich so that is what I got. The deli is pretty simple and has some selection of drinks and snacks, but the sandwich corner is very prominent with neatly stacked ingredients and very sweet ladies who are making the sandwiches. The lady who took my order was extremely sweet and nice, and she asked me for my choice of bread, cheese, and toppings. For $13, the sandwich was massive and an absolute steal. I haven’t had any corned beef sandwiches in my life, but for what it was, it was extremely tasty. it came with two thinly sliced pickles, which added a nice acidity to the fatty meat. I was so hungry. I literally ate it while waiting for my bus. Absolutely 10/10.
